Why People Jump From One Relationship to Another

Relationships & Breakup

As a young Nigerian girl, I grew up watching the love my mom and dad shared, though compared to this age, it wasn’t much of a display as Dad was in the military plus the “Nigerian parent’s factor,” but it was more than enough to spawn a hunger in my heart for a true relationship filled with love, faithfulness, and honesty.

Lately, I was told some disheartening news of how a promising relationship that involved two grown adults suddenly ended even after observing the expected traditional rights. This led me to question my heart as to why people dump or walk out of a relationship for another; the answers I got were simply choice and discipline.

Choice: Being able to decide who/what you want even though there are many types and specs tailored from different backgrounds, experiences and exposure. It would surprise you to know that some adults still act like kids when it comes to choice making; I mean, its still difficult for some persons to make a pick and settle with it no matter the condition or consequences they’d have to bear. I guess its also why some people still blame people for what they caused themselves.

Discipline: Being able to stick to their choice when they finally make one, no matter how rough the edges may be; because in the end, you work TWOgether to build your unique SHIP. Truth is, people just want to ‘eat their cake and have it’. Sometimes, life doesn’t give you everything in one package, sometimes you’d buy a crackers and see some crumbs as part of it may be broken due to the processes it passed through just to get to you.

I feel like these two reasons could be the reason why a guy can disappoint a girl even after paying the bride's price. Because he saw another girl who seems to have what he wants at the moment…

It’s why a girl can hurt a guy because she met another sweet talker, who is apparently more financially stable and good looking…*The End*
